One of the oldest continuing film societies in the nation, The Cinema, Inc. was founded in 1966 by a group of IBM workers using a borrowed film projection equipment at the Raleigh Little Theatre. The organization was founded as nonprofit whose purpose was “the presentation of films of educational, cultural, artistic and historic interest.” After 15 years, the organization moved to The Rialto where it continued monthly screenings until March, 2020. After a long hiatus, The Cinema, Inc. is thrilled to resume sharing our love of movies with our community. Our upcoming season will be abbreviated to April-August 2024. We resume a regular 12-month season in September, 2024.
